The Society for Science and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation are pleased to provide the Equitable Access Fund for the Affiliated Fair Network. Through this fund, the Society for Science (Society) will award a limited number of grants to support projects and initiatives to improve the reach and inclusion of your science fair including those that improve the overall user experience through infrastructure updates and initiatives to support historically underserved populations. The maximum amount any grantee will be awarded is $10,000.
We appreciate that the 2022-2023 science fair season may have challenges as virtual, in-person and/or hybrid approaches are planned. These funds may support middle-school/junior divisions as well as the high school division of your affiliated fair.
Fairs selected to receive a grant through this program will be required to submit a brief report to the Society for Science at the conclusion of their fair. The report format will be distributed in early 2023. Data collected on this report will include, for instance, the number of students your fair reached; the approaches you took to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion; and what activities of your fair this grant helped to support.
The Affiliated Fair Equitable Access Fund grant application will close on October 28, 2022; awards will be announced and fulfilled in early December. Your application must be "Submitted as Final" by 11:59pm (EST) on October 28, 2022.
